GNPA North Central Atlanta Chapter Meetup
Hello everyone! It is official!
Announcing the upcoming 2016 NG3C Shootout! The annual shootout has become a very popular event for our members and we would hope for 30 or more GNPA members to participate this year.
A very fun and challenging day, if you have never participated … I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO DO SO! It is a HOOT! The more members from GNPA we have the better will be our chance to win among all the other photographer clubs who participate.
How it works:
At about 8 AM a drawing is held to select five topics to be included in the day’s shootout, All the teams have to then go out and take photos that best represent these five topics. Past topics have included “Shadows”, “Motion”, Repeating Patterns”, “Panning Motion” ‘The Color Green’, ‘Repeating Patterns’, ‘Panning Motion’, etc. Typically clubs divide up their group into five teams, each tackling one of the five topics. The teams then head out and shoot for a couple of hours within a designated area which can be as large as a county or as small as a school campus. By 11 AM or so, the teams return to do post-processing and select their team entries for evaluation by a panel of judges. While judging is going on there is typically some other activity such as a brief workshop and drawings for door prizes that have totaled as much as $10,000 in the past. There also will be vendors there for you to meet and shop. Around 4 PM, winners are announced for both individuals and for the clubs that have the highest number of individual winners. GNPA has taken home 3rd Place and 1st Place in the past and we would like to be in the winner’s circle again this year!
There is no cost since GNPA will cover the entry fee for all members and there also will be a special Shoot Out T-Short for all the GNPA participants. . Sign-up sheets will be coming around soon. This is a great annual team building event for GNPA so spread the word and we hope that you will sign-up and enjoy a great outing.
Saturday, November 5th at Douglas County High School located at 8705 Campbell Street, Douglasville, Ga 30134. The Sweetwater Camera Club will be the host for this year’s event.
